  • This role will be based out of our Chicago office and is subject to our Company's return-to-office policy which currently requires a minimum of three days a week in the office.

Responsibilities

  • Detailed review and redline of various documents and legal instruments (with primary focus on real estate documents) to assist with project development, financing, and operations as needed.
  • Review title commitments, coordinate with title company, draft legal descriptions for documents to be recorded, and assist with various matters of due diligence related to title work including (but not limited to) management of title commitments and policies, and archiving title commitments and policies.
  • Support the Legal department in strategic initiatives and various other work as may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate, legal support, or a similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in reviewing, drafting, and redlining legal documents and real estate instruments.
  • Working knowledge of title commitments, surveys, legal descriptions, and other real estate due-diligence materials.
  • Excellent research skills with the ability to analyze real estate issues and summarize findings clearly.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, outside counsel, and third-party vendors
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a fast-paced legal or project-development environment.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, Business, or related field preferred.
