About the role
- Kiln Assistant will look for and alert KO to any unusual or abnormal issues with Kilns, Fans, Mills, Coolers, etc. and is accountable for performing his/her duties in a safe, efficient manner to ensure the production of high quality Kiln Run.

Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Must be able to lift 100 lbs. with assistance.
- Must be able to work all shifts.
- Must be able to walk up and down stairs.
- Must be able to climb up and down ladders.
- Must have good written and oral communication skills.
- Must wear all required safety equipment.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Nice to have
- The Kiln Assistant works with and reports to the Kiln Operator.
- This position is the eyes and ears for the Kiln Operator outside of the Control Room.
- Report Safety Hazards or Equipment issues to Kiln Operator and/or Production Supervisor
- Train with KO to learn kiln operating procedures
- While performing the duties of this job
- the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, dusty conditions, high noise, outside weather in all conditions and materials used in the process.
Skills
- Frequent walking, standing, and sitting with exposure to all seasonal climatic conditions.
- Occasionally lifting, carrying, and/or pulling objects up to 50 lbs.
- Approximately 100% plant environment.
