About the role
- The Ontic Engineering Team is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Manufacturing production team!
- Ontic provides a diverse and fast-paced work environment.
- You will report to the Engineering Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in Creedmoor, NC.
Responsibilities
- This includes working from engineering design documents, specifications, prototypes and/or change orders to determine equipment, tooling, materials and methods of manufacture to produce quality products within cost and specification guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, electrical engineering technology or equivalent.
- Minimum four years of experience in manufacturing, planning and fabrication, working with AC/DC motors, actuators, hydraulic pumps, valves, electro-mechanical assemblies and accessories.
- Knowledge of materials, outside processes, NDT and specifications as related to precision aerospace components and systems.
- Knowledge of design/drafting practices, geometric tolerancing, and proficiency in reading/understanding mechanical drawings.
- Effective communication and ability to write clear, concise technical reports.
- C.F.R. §120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee.
- Able to coach and mentor rising engineers.
- Project management.
- Formal problem-solving methodologies.
- Lean, Six-Sigma, DOE and statistical analysis
- Strong computer skills including MS Office, 2D & 3D CAD.
Skills
- Provides documentation and training on assembly methods, test procedures and production equipment.
- Conducts failure analyses to resolve manufacturability or quality issues.
- Perform machine maintenance and high-level troubleshooting.
- Provides technical assistance in matters of applications, products, materials, equipment and processes.
