- Job Description: The Maintenance and Equipment Technician at CapWest will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and safety of our rental equipment fleet.

Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections on rental equipment, including generators, excavators, forklifts (electric and gas), pressure washers, scissor lifts (electric), boom lifts (electric and diesel) and all other rental equipment including hand tools.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement effective solutions
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed on equipment and save in the corresponding system
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly
- Heavy Duty Mechanic will perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot problems, and implement effective solutions to minimize equipment downtime.
- Additionally, the technician will assist in preparing equipment for rental, provide customer support regarding proper equipment usage, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- This role may involve the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support research, analysis, content development, design, reporting, or operational efficiency.
- Employees are also expected to disclose when AI tools have been used in the creation of work and must not present AI-generated content as solely their own original work.

Requirements
- Red Seal is required
- Proven experience as an equipment technician or in a similar role, preferably within the rental industry for a minimum of 3 years
- Experience in Smartsheet or Texada an asset
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions.
- All AI-generated or AI-assisted outputs must be reviewed for accuracy, quality, and appropriateness before use.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills. Some welding knowledge would be advantage
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with customers and team members.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Compensation
- $35-$52 per hour
