About the role

  • Role Summary As a Staff/Principal Electrical Engineer at Unlimit Ventures, you will apply your breadth of knowledge and engineering leadership to various new products as they are prepared for market launch.
  • You will distill complex problems into workable electrical-mechanical systems and guide the execution of diverse teams in full-cycle product development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop electronics architectures from board to system level for sophisticated electrical-mechanical systems.
  • Design electrical systems that meet use-case, technical, operational, manufacturing, cost and schedule requirements.
  • Develop test plans and lead hardware integration, testing, debug and validation.
  • Execute mixed/analog, power electronics, and digital circuit design and layout of printed circuit boards.
  • Facilitate board bring-up, test, and debug of newly designed electrical hardware.
  • Develop electrical system budgets including estimating labor, material, and any other relevant costs.
  • Participate in design reviews and design FMEA analysis.
  • 12+ years of applied experience successfully developing electrical and embedded systems.

Requirements

  • In-depth hardware design experience with both system-level and component-level development.
  • Experience with PLCs/microcontrollers
  • Experience designing custom PCB's (in Altium or equivalent) and preparing schematics for manufacturing.
  • Experience designing automotive grade power & communication wire harnesses.
  • Demonstrated ability to foresee and identify technical risk, and engineering mindset of addressing risks early.
  • Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting of sophisticated systems including circuit issues, EMI/EMC/ESD mitigation.
  • Experience with PLCs/microcontrollers; programming, architecture, debugging.

Nice to have

  • Preferred Skills & Experience Demonstrated full-cycle experience (early stage ideation, to production, to post launch development) of multiple hardware products.
