About the role

  • This position also contributes to systems engineering efforts by identifying integration issues, supporting network performance analysis, and ensuring alignment with broader architectural objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Tier 1/2 diagnostics and fault isolation across tactical network systems; resolve issues or coordinate escalation for complex engineering challenges
  • Maintain accurate configuration records, test results, and issue logs; provide reporting to support ongoing engineering and architecture development efforts
  • Deliver hands-on support at Army installations and operational environments, including setup, sustainment, and troubleshooting of tactical network equipment
  • Collaborate with systems engineering teams to resolve integration challenges and support implementation of evolving requirements across tactical and enterprise environments
  • Apply understanding of network design principles, including routing protocols and multi-path transport (SATCOM, cellular, terrestrial), to support effective troubleshooting and system optimization
  • The Tactical Network Engineer provides hands-on engineering and technical support for Army tactical communications systems, ensuring reliable integration and operation across complex network environments.
  • This role operates at the intersection of network architecture and field execution, translating high-level design concepts into functional, mission-ready capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR minimum 4+ years of relevant experience supporting tactical communications systems
