About the role
- Job Description: Under the direction of the Quality Management Director, the Infection Prevention Manager provides leadership and oversight for the organization's infection prevention and control program.
- This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as organizational policies and standards.
- The IPC Manager is responsible for strategic planning, program development, and operational execution to prevent healthcare-associated infections (HAIs).
Responsibilities
- Direct and manage the infection prevention and control program in alignment with CDC, TJC, Title 22, OSHA, APIC, CMS, and state regulations.
- Ensure organizational readiness for regulatory surveys and inspections; lead corrective action and sustainment plans.
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and standard work for infection prevention practices.
- Lead reviews of patient safety events and facilitate root cause analyses (RCAs) and after-action reviews.
- Develop and monitor corrective action plans and sustainment strategies.
- Drive proactive hazard surveillance and failure mode identification.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) required.
- Current State of California RN license (unencumbered) required.
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required.
- Ensure accurate data collection, validation, and reporting to NHSN and other required systems.
- Education
- Master's degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field preferred.
