About the role

  • The Executive team sets the direction, pace, priorities, and strategy of 1X.
  • Their ability to make those calls quickly and coherently has the greatest outsized impact on the entire company.
  • The Chief of Staff sits at the center of that team, ensuring the highest-leverage work gets the CEO's time and the rest of the business stays aligned around it.

Responsibilities

  • We're building humanoid robots that work in home - doing the chores, handling the tasks, and giving people their time back.
  • NEO is our flagship - a home robot designed to move, learn, and operate in the real world alongside real people.
  • We're scaling, we're hiring with intention, and we need people who want to build something that will genuinely change how humans spend their time - safely creating abundance for all.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in fast-moving operator roles: Chief of Staff, strategy & operations, top-tier consulting, investing paired with operating, or a founding role.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving cross-functional initiatives to completion in environments with real technical and operational complexity
  • Experience running planning and prioritization processes (OKRs, quarterly planning, or equivalent) that leadership actually adopted
  • You can produce a decision memo, a board update, or an all-hands narrative on short notice

Skills

  • Prior Chief of Staff experience reporting directly to a founder or CEO of a scaling hardware, robotics, AI, or deep-tech company.
  • Experience designing internal communications rhythms (all-hands, board updates, weekly business reviews).
  • Comfort translating between technical and business audiences with equal fluency.

Compensation

  • $230,000 - $280,000
