About the role
- We are seeking a Master Carpenter with extensive experience in exhibit fabrication and custom casework for an initial 6‑ to 8‑week contract.
- Exceptional performance during the contract may open the door to a full‑time role with our team.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other craftsmen to ensure design intent and quality standards are met.
- Maintain a safe and organized workshop, adhering to all safety protocols.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in exhibit fabrication or custom casework.
- Proficiency with woodworking tools, machinery, and fabrication techniques.
- Strong understanding of materials, including wood, laminates, acrylics, and metals.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Experience with CNC machinery and digital fabrication tools.
- Familiarity with museum-quality standards and conservation considerations.
- Knowledge of finishing techniques, including staining, painting, and laminating.
