About the role

Job Description Montgomery College is seeking to fill two (2) full-time HVAC Mechanic II positions.
Both positions are located at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus.
Work hours for the two positions are as follows: Tuesday-Saturday, 6:30am-3:00pm, and for the 2nd position, Tuesday-Saturday: 2:30pm-11:00pm.

High School diploma or GED required.
Five years of experience in heating, cooling and ventilation systems.
Comprehensive knowledge of the methods, procedures and techniques of the HVAC trade.
Working knowledge of occupational hazards and ability to proficiently and safely use tools and equipment pertinent to the trade.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, control diagrams, HVAC equipment and electrical schematic control wiring diagrams.
Ability to understand material and supply requirements.
Ability to read, understand and follow written, verbal and visual instructions.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to instruct and train lower-level employees.
Ability to work cooperatively with others.

Participation in a Maryland State Retirement System plan (Pension or Optional Retirement Plan, depending on the position).
If you are already retired from the Maryland State Retirement System, you may not enroll in a Maryland State Retirement System plan at Montgomery College and may have earn ings restrictions, per state law.
Initial placement is based on candidate experience and internal equity.
For degrees earned outside of the U.S., a copy of your education equivalency, conducted by a nationally recognized evaluation service, must be included in your application.
