About the role
- Job Description Montgomery College is seeking to fill two (2) full-time HVAC Mechanic II positions.
- Both positions are located at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus.
- Work hours for the two positions are as follows: Tuesday-Saturday, 6:30am-3:00pm, and for the 2nd position, Tuesday-Saturday: 2:30pm-11:00pm.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Five years of experience in heating, cooling and ventilation systems.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the methods, procedures and techniques of the HVAC trade.
- Working knowledge of occupational hazards and ability to proficiently and safely use tools and equipment pertinent to the trade.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, control diagrams, HVAC equipment and electrical schematic control wiring diagrams.
- Ability to understand material and supply requirements.
- Ability to read, understand and follow written, verbal and visual instructions.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to instruct and train lower-level employees.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others.
Compensation
- $26k-$34k

- Participation in a Maryland State Retirement System plan (Pension or Optional Retirement Plan, depending on the position).
- If you are already retired from the Maryland State Retirement System, you may not enroll in a Maryland State Retirement System plan at Montgomery College and may have earn ings restrictions, per state law.
- Initial placement is based on candidate experience and internal equity.
- For degrees earned outside of the U.S., a copy of your education equivalency, conducted by a nationally recognized evaluation service, must be included in your application.
