About the role

  • The Carleton College Archaeology Program invites applications for a visiting position for the 2026-2027 academic year. This is a one-year, 0.67-time position, which will begin September 1, 2026. Candidates will ideally have a Ph.D. in hand by the start-date of the position (to be hired as a Visiting Assistant Professor). However, ABD candidates will also be
  • considered (and would be hired at the rank of Visiting Instructor). This position will involve teaching four courses during Carleton's three academic terms (Fall, Winter, and Spring). We prefer to arrange those courses so that they are spread across all three terms, but a visitor teaching in only two terms (with two courses per term) may also be considered.

Compensation

  • The expected starting salary range for this position is between $49,200 - $52,460.
