About the role
- The Co-op will be supporting the Model Shop by utilizing various shop machinery, equipment, and CAD software.
- Will be working in a fast-paced environment, interacting with fellow employees and management, solving problems, and creating innovating solutions.
- Solving problems of basic to moderate scope and complexity
Responsibilities
- The Co-op will have hands-on experience in the development of concepts, prototypes, fixtures, and production equipment by being involved in the development, design, fabrication and documentation processes and other assignments.
- Assist in the design, fabrication, and assembly of working prototypes, fixtures, and equipment from the guidance of assigned mentor or shop management
Requirements
- Current undergraduate student working towards a degree in Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering/Technical degree.
- Ability to work under fast-paced conditions
- Ability to make decisions and use good judgment
- Ability to prioritize various duties and multitask as required
Nice to have
- Machining experience - manual and CNC KneeMill & Lathe
- Ability to regularly walk, sit, or stand as required
- Ability to occasionally bend and push/pull
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
