Requirements
- Ability to learn, understand, explain, and communicate a variety of degree requirements and policies.
- Ability to work with a wide variety of student needs including referrals to internal and external resources.
- working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- experience with and comfort utilizing multiple types of technology to provide advising services.
- Experience with project management.
- Experience with early alert and/or student success software such as Navigate 360.
- Ability to plan, organize, and administer multiple activities and meet deadlines.

- Academic Advising provides a safe and respectful environment to collaborate with students on course selection, understanding degree requirements, and preparing for degree completion or credit transfer to other academic institutions.
- Each student is assigned an academic advisor who practices Appreciative Advising methodology.
- The Academic Advisor at Anoka-Ramsey Community serves as a member of a professional team providing comprehensive advising services for Anoka-Ramsey Community College students who are: Clarifying their academic interests, preparing for admission to majors, pursuing declared majors, and changing their academic goals.
- This position provides leadership and direction for the department, schedule coordination, hiring and training student workers.

- One (1) year of professional experience in advising or student services in higher education.
- Experience working with veterans and military‑connected students, including familiarity with veterans benefits and related processes.
- Master's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education or related field
